On August 24, 1985, Quzhou intermediate court was established with the approval of the Supreme Court. It has jurisdiction over 6 grass-roots courts (Kecheng District, Qujiang District, Longyou County, Jiangshan City, Changshan County and Kaihua County), 20 courts (Kecheng garden, Hangbu, Shiliang court, Qujiang Erli, Duze, Dazhou court, Longyou Xiaonanhai, Xikou, Huzhen, Tashi court, jiangshanxiakou, Hecun, Shimen court, Changshan Fangcun, hongqigang, Zhaoxian court, Kaihua Huabu, Ma Jin, cuntou and chihuai court). The Municipal Intermediate Court has set up 24 functional departments and organ Party committees, including the case court, the first civil court, the first criminal court and the administrative court.

The number of special political and legal personnel of the courts in the city is 714, the number of business personnel is 67, and the number of judicial employees is 293. There are actually 653 political and legal officers and police officers, 60 business personnel, and 208 judicial employees. The number of special political and legal personnel of the Municipal Intermediate Court is 127, the number of professional personnel is 4, and the number of judicial employees is 43. There are 119 political and legal police officers, 5 professional personnel, and 35 judicial employees. Among the political and legal police officers, 60 have master's degrees, accounting for 50.4%. There were 333 judges and 264 post judges in the courts of the city; Among them, the Municipal Intermediate Court has 65 judges and 45 post judges. In the past five years, a total of 121 collectives and 615 people in the courts of the city have been commended or recorded merit at or above the municipal level. Two grass-roots courts have been rated as excellent courts in the province, two grass-roots courts have been rated as courts with outstanding contributions in the province, and 15 cadres and policemen have been commended by the Supreme Court. Among them, the Municipal Intermediate Court was rated by the Supreme Court as the advanced collective of the national court party building work, the provincial high court as the provincial sunshine judicial excellent court and the provincial court culture construction demonstration unit, and the judicial police detachment was rated as the advanced collective of the National Court judicial police. Kecheng court was rated as the "national advanced collective for safeguarding the rights and interests of women and children", and the Chinatown court of Kaihua court was rated as the "national advanced collective for family trial work". Wang Jia of the Kaihua court was rated as "national excellent judge" and "national female meritorious pacesetter". Jin Chaowen and Wang Lufang of the Municipal Intermediate Court were rated as national court case pacesetters and national court advanced individuals respectively. Yin Yicun of the Municipal Intermediate Court and Yao Feijie of the Kaihua court were rated as advanced individuals in the province's party building work. Chen Bo of the Kecheng court was rated as advanced individuals in the province's special struggle against triads and evil.

From January to July 2021, the city's courts resolved 6523 disputes before litigation, with a pre litigation resolution rate of 9.86% higher than that of the same period in 2019; 44075 new cases of various types were received and 39374 cases were settled. The number of cases received and closed by the courts in the city decreased by 3.65% and 6.03% respectively compared with the same period in 2019. Among them, the Municipal Intermediate Court received 5778 new cases of various types and completed 4963 cases, down 16.88% and 21.02% respectively over the same period in 2019. Among the "eight promotion and five reduction" indicators of trial execution notified by the Provincial Higher Court, the courts in the whole city have achieved 12 target indicators of increase and decrease, with a completion rate of 92.31%, including 88.82% of civil and criminal first instance court judgments, 85.57% of civil adjustable withdrawals, 100% of the final cost pass rate, 0% of the execution case visits, ranking first in the province. The automatic performance rate of Quzhou intermediate court was 91.26%, the defect rate of the first instance judgment case was 0, and the final cost qualification rate was 100%. Among the "eight promotions and five demotions" indicators notified by the provincial high court, 9 items ranked first among the provincial courts. The trial Management Office of the provincial high court specially came to Quzhou to investigate the experience and practice of trial quality and efficiency control.
