Shaoxing lawyers association is a social organization legal person established according to law. It is a self-discipline organization of lawyers and implements professional management on Lawyers according to law. According to relevant regulations and needs, the association may set up a liaison group of the municipal lawyers association or a branch of the Municipal Lawyers Association in its county (city, district).

The association accepts the supervision and guidance of Shaoxing Judicial Bureau and the guidance of the superior Lawyers Association.

The association performs the following duties:

（1） Support and guarantee members to practice according to law and safeguard their legitimate rights and interests;

（2） To formulate the development plan and policy of lawyers' work in Shaoxing, formulate and improve the lawyer's practice norms, norms and the lawyer industry management system;

（3） To guide, inspect and supervise the standardization work of law firms;

（4） Summarize and exchange lawyers' work experience, improve the professional level and social image of the industry;

（5） To educate, inspect and supervise lawyers' professional ethics and practice discipline;

（6） Assist in the annual inspection and registration of law firms and lawyers;

（7） Conducting pre practice training and post practice continuing education for lawyers;

（8） Accept complaints from parties and handle complaints against members;

（9） Mediate disputes arising from members' practice activities;

（10） Reward and punish members;

（11） Publicizing lawyers' work and improving lawyers' social image;

（12） Organize lawyers and law firms to conduct external exchanges and participate in social welfare activities;

（13） Developing lawyers' welfare undertakings;

（14） Establish and improve the lawyer's practice liability insurance system;

（15） Coordinate the relationship with relevant departments and put forward legislative and judicial suggestions related to the development of the lawyer industry;

（16） Other duties entrusted by the judicial administrative department and the lawyers association at a higher level;
