Yiwu Court
       
 

Yiwu court was established in June 1950. The current court building was put into use at the end of December 2001, covering an area of 22.56 Mu and a building area of 21800 square meters. The whole building is divided into three parts: office building, trial building and comprehensive building. Among them, the trial building has 27 large, medium and small courtrooms and 11 mediation rooms. The largest courtroom can accommodate more than 360 people. The building embodies the open and transparent judicial concept and the architectural idea of facilitating litigation and management.

In recent years, under the supervision and guidance of the Municipal People's Congress and its Standing Committee and the higher courts, and the care and support of the municipal government and all sectors of society, the Yiwu court has actively played its trial function and successfully completed the trial task. Since the establishment of the court, Yiwu court has handled nearly 300000 cases of various types, more than 10000 cases since 1997, and more than 20000 cases since 2009. In 2015, 2016 and 2017, 34584, 38873 and 42804 cases of various types were handled respectively. The number of cases accepted, the number of cases closed and the number of cases handled by the police per capita continued to be among the highest in the province. It is the first grass-roots court in China with jurisdiction over foreign-related, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan commercial cases (2005) The first grass-roots court in China with jurisdiction over some patent cases (except invention cases) (2009).
